Join us for the Child Care Aware® of America Policy Summit & Annual Meeting

The Child Care Aware® of America 2017 Policy Summit & Annual Meeting is an annual event addressing the policy, practice, and future of the early childhood field. The Policy Summit & Annual Meeting will focus on providing information and program practice that educates and builds skills attendees for their policy strategies. Attendees will leave the meeting prepared to discuss upcoming public policy, legislation and regulations with policymakers in range from the local, state and federal levels. Additionally, attendees will learn more about best practices in the field of leadership, and program services. There will also be an opportunity to network and build relationships with colleagues from around the country.

Child Care Works Family Advocacy Summit

This year CCAoA and Child Care Works are sponsoring forty parents (or grandparents and other relatives) to join the Policy Summit via the Family Advocacy Summit. The sponsorship includes travel, room, and board. We will begin accepting applications late December 2016.

The CCAoA and Child Care Works parent advocates will receive training and guidance on advocating for child care policies with their members of Congress, how to tell their personal child care story, and more. Attendees will then have a chance to meet with their Congressional representatives and advocate for the necessary policy initiatives needed from Congress to bring safe, affordable, high-quality child care to families across the country. They’ll also have the opportunity to network with each other and share stories and best practices from around the country.

If you are passionate about early childhood education, believe that no parent should have to choose between their paycheck and their children, have fought for quality standards in child care, or want to get involved on the issue—we invite you to join us. Visit to learn more about the movement.

Day on Capitol Hill

The annual Day On The Hill event will be the premiere advocacy day. Nearing the end of the first 100 days of the new administration, attendees will share the critical need for an advanced child care system with federal investment. It will provide an opportunity for child care advocates to meet with their Congressional representatives, and put child care initiatives at the forefront of political conversation. Attendees will also have the opportunity to establish relationships with new Members of Congress and staff to help familiarize those legislators with child care legislation.
