Child care resource and referral agencies (CCR&Rs) are a constant voice in communities. CCR&Rs know the landscape of child care before, during, and after a disaster. This session will explore different approaches that CCR&Rs have taken in the disaster context. Through presentations from CCR&R staff, we will explore the various roles that CCR&Rs can play before, during, and after a disaster. Outcomes of this session include:

  • Increased awareness and knowledge of emergency preparedness, response and recovery.
  • Increased awareness and understanding of how CCR&Rs can provide support before, during, and after emergencies.
  • Creation of a national dialogue, which will provide guidance as to what the appropriate role of CCR&Rs are during preparedness, response, and recovery.
